        For years I was professional caregiver to a woman with dementia. I myself became isolated and depressed. I would wake every morning with feelings of dread and worry even though I had nothing special to worry about it. I've always enjoyed laughing so one morning instead of being overcome with dread, I decided to laugh.

          Holy Moly! I was surprised how differently I felt. The dread and worry were gone. I felt optimistic and even hopeful. And I found myself laughing more often throughout the day. 
           I was so freaked about the experience I started to do research. I talked to scientists and laughter experts and found out about laughter's ability to resolve stress states and produce lighter moods. I started laughing every morning. And the crazy thing is I started to look forward to it. Suddenly friends were doing it too. So we started to call it WULFING or wake up laughing. 
         Now laughing first thing isn't always easy. So I started looking for a new and different ways to start laughing even when I didn't feel like it. I even made a video to help people get started. 

           WULFING has been a game changer for me. I'm more optimistic, more light hearted and I start my days without dread and worry. Mainly I just find myself laughing more and I find more things to laugh about. I've become so passionate about laughter and things that make you feel good I've become a Mirthologist. This site is dedicated to helping people find ways to laugh in the morning so their day plays out in the best way possible.
